Devotional Prayers

ACT OF FAITH

O my God, I firmly believe that
thou art one God in
three Divine Persons,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
I believe that thy Divine Son
became man and died for our sins,
and that he will come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths
that the Holy Catholic Church teaches,
because thou hast revealed them,
who can neither
deceive nor be deceived.

ACT OF HOPE

O my God, relying on thy infinite
goodness and promises,
I hope to obtain pardon of my
sins, the help of thy grace,
and life everlasting
through the merits of
Jesus Christ, my
Lord and Redeemer.

ACT OF LOVE

O my God, I love thee
above all things,
with my whole heart and soul,
because thou art all
good and worthy of all love.
I love my neighbor as myself
for the love of thee.
I forgive all who have
injured me and
ask pardon of all
whom I have injured.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry
for having offended thee.
I detest all my sins because of
thy just punishments, but most of all
because they offend thee my God,
who art all good and deserving
of all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of thy grace
to confess my sins, to do penance
and to amend my life. Amen

THE JESUS PRAYER

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner"

DIVINE PRAISES

The Divine praises are traditionally recited during the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
They were composed in reparation for profanity and blasphemy.

2. Blessed be his holy name.
3. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
4. Blessed be the name of Jesus.
5. Blessed be his most Sacred Heart.
6. Blessed be his most Precious Blood.
7. Blessed be Jesus in the most holy sacrament of the altar.
8. Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
9. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
10. Blessed be her holy and immaculate conception.
11. Blessed be her glorious assumption.
12. Blessed be the name of Mary, virgin and mother.
13. Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
14. Blessed be God in his angels and in his saints.

COME, HOLY SPIRIT

V. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful

R. And kindle in them the fire of your love.

V. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.

R. And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise
and ever rejoice in his consolation. We ask this through
Christ our Lord. Amen

DEDICATION TO JESUS

Lord Jesus Christ
take all my freedom,
my memory, my understanding, and my will.
All that I have and cherish
You have given me.
I surrender it all to be guided by Your will.
Your grace and Your love
are wealth enough for me.
Give me these, Lord Jesus,
and I ask for nothing more.
